It's the 25th of April
2017 and it is #WorldMalariaDay
Since 2008, the global
community comes together to commemorate World Malaria Day on April 25.
World Malaria Day was
established by WHO Member States as an occasion to highlight the need for
continued investment and sustained political commitment for malaria prevention
and control.
The theme for this year's
commemoration is Malaria Prevention Works: Let's Close The Gap
This year therefore, WHO is
shining a spotlight on prevention, the cornerstone of malaria control efforts
globally.
This infographic highlights
critical gaps in access to proven, life-saving malaria prevention tools,
including insecticide-treated mosquito nets, indoor residual spraying of
insecticides and preventive therapies for vulnerable groups in Africa.
